Call it a kick-start or a restart, a launch or a reset–this winter is the perfect time to begin or return to college. TVCC is offering one tuition-free class for new and returning students to try out college and see how it fits for you. Choose from a select course list and register by January 2nd.

*Offer limited to any credit class that has a tuition charge and still has open space in the course at the time of registration. Other course associated fees will still apply (i.e. Specific Course Fees, Course Supplies, Required Textbooks, etc.)

Not included: Dual-credit high school courses, students currently in high school, non-credit classes and Center for Business, Workforce and Community Learning classes are not included and are not eligible for this free class offer. Frequently Asked Questions

New and former students (who have not taken a class at TVCC since Fall 2022) are eligible for one tuition-free class at TVCC.

Only tuition costs are waived for the one free class. Course specific fees, lab fees, course supplies and textbooks are not included in the offer and are required to be paid.

  • Any credit class that has a tuition charge and still has open space in the course at the time of registration.
  • Not included: Dual-credit high school courses, Non-credit classes and Center for Business, Workforce and Community Learning classes are not included and are not eligible for this free class offer.

At the time of registration, you choose which class you want to designate with the for your free class. After registration is complete, you may not make changes to the selection of which class is eligible.

You can sign up at anytime, but you must meet with an advisor, be admitted and registered by January 2, 2025. All application materials must be submitted by December 30, 2024. You must be admitted and registered by January 2, 2025 to take advantage of this opportunity for new students. 

Students will need to pay all other any course specific fees and supply costs, as well as purchase any textbooks for the classes. These costs are not part of the free class offer.  If you're taking more than one class, consider applying for financial aid to see if you qualify for more assistance. We're excited to have you at TVCC! And, YES, if you are a new or former student who qualifies for this offer,  we're happy to waive the tuition for one of your classes. Just stop by TVCC Student Services to complete the Winter 2025 New Student Course Waiver form with an advisor by January 2. 2025.
